Who Are We?
4B Harm Reduction Society (4BHRS) is a non-profit organization formed in 2019 in response to social health challenges that keep people who use substances and the unhoused population marginalized and at significant risk for severe health outcomes. We are located in Amiskwacîwâskahikan (Beaver Hills House/The City of Edmonton).
We are a group of volunteers, composed of health care workers, people with lived experience, and people who just want to make a difference, who are providing education and resources to vulnerable populations, businesses, workplaces, community events, and much more!

Founder of 4B, Angie, is a dedicated healthcare worker and community advocate, who founded this group with the help of others like her, who wanted to give back and do more for their community.

What Do We Do?
With street outreach, we mobilize in groups of 3-5 people, and our goal is to narrow service gaps and increase low-barrier access to harm-reduction supplies, basic necessities, and service navigation outside the typical operating hours of larger organizations. Our volunteers are trained to respond to drug poisonings in an informed and dignified way. Our outreach teams mostly operate in the Downtown and Whyte Ave areas, and descend into the LRT System in the winter months, where our community often finds shelter.

We also have a strong focus on providing accurate and detailed information about the current drug climate, proper overdose response and identification, and harm reduction practices for a variety of organizations and businesses.

How Do We Do It?
While we are a registered non-profit, we couldn't do what we do without the constant support of community members, local businesses, and fundraising efforts from our volunteers and others who care about making a difference. Most of our volunteers are balancing day jobs with our commitment to give back to our community.
We are always taking donations to continue doing what we do. To learn more, visit our donation page.
